This can include additional rules, setting information, or anything that enhances an existing game. The supplement may be for purchase or free.

THE INDEPENDENT SUPPLEMENT OF THE YEAR FOR 2007 IS...

The Blossoms are Falling by Luke Crane / with 77 points

A really evocative supplement for Burning Wheel. But it's not just about the setting. As usual the Burning Wheel crew lavish more useful rules into a supplement too (Clan Burning, etc.)

Hard to question this one. Blossoms made a big splash, and does wonderful things to Burning Wheel to fit the era.

Luke and his Burning Crew do it again.

Opening up a period of Japanese history not very widely known, yet making it accessible and exciting, The Blossoms are Falling takes The Burning Wheel beyond its Tolkien-esque roots. Plus, what's not to love about Duels of Verse?

Possibly the best RPG set in Japan ever, and a good example of how to try to make an RPG that respects rather than objectifies or fetishizes its sources.

A new take on historical Japan.

RUNNERS UP:

Cold City Companion by Paul Bourne / with 44 points

A beautiful companion-piece to a great game, enhancing the original without ever overshadowing it. A rare supplement indeed.

1950's berlin - horror. whatmore can I say.

Slick and scary, with ideas leaping off every page into your mind. A beautiful book that has now been rolled into the updated version of the main rulebook.

A fun addition to a great game.

Engines of War by Louis G. Norton, Ph.D. / with 14 points

love the power creep of battlelords and this is a natural progression.

Ave Molech by Michael G. Hurston / with 13 points

dark dark dark. love it.

A very slickly produced supplement.

Elemental Gemstones by Julie Ann Dawson / with 6 points

I love this stuff.

This is a throwaway by what I think would be a useful supplement.
