INDIE SUPPLEMENT OF THE YEAR, 2014

This Sub-Award honors the best supplement for an existing Independent RPG. It is judged on the same standards as the Indie Game of the Year, but applies to game supplements rather than games themselves. This can include additional rules, setting information, or anything that enhances an existing game. The supplement may be for purchase or free.

THE Indie Supplement of the Year FOR 2014 IS...

Deep Carbon Observatory by Patrick Stuart, Scrap Princess / with 32 points

Great premise, great execution, a lot of valuable tools for any GM.

Such horrifying and desperate circumstances--a true test of player heroism.

THE RUNNERS UP:

Tianxia: Blood, Silk & Jade by Jack Norris / with 30 points

Well written and designed.

An incredible game (I'd call it a full game, but whatever) that has off-the-chart production values. If this was released in 2001 there'd be conventions dedicated to it. It's gorgeous, competently made, and inspirational.

A Red and Pleasant Land by Zak S. / with 30 points

Well-written, well-designed, and very useful. A supplement that can 'give' for years.

Planarch Codex: Wintry Plane by J.Walton / with 19 points

The Planarch Codex: Wintry Plane invites us to rethink dungeoneering as a metaphorical expression.

Weird and wonderful, artful and eminently useful at the table! Strange and difficult combinations, but carried of flawlessly.

Funnel World by Jason Lutes / with 16 points

The DCC funnel in Dungeon World. What more do you need to know?

The Funnel for Dungeon World? Fuck. Yes.

My Life As The GM by Steve Hickey / with 12 points

I'd love to see this kind of publication, sharing game-specific expertise, become more common.

Inverse World- A Dungeon World Supplement by Jacob Randolph / with 6 points

Turning Dungeon World inside out -- in the best possible way.
